The IntelliCAD Technology Consortium (ITC) today announced the release of IntelliCAD 12.1.
IntelliCAD 12.1 is a major release that includes performance improvements and new features, including the focal point of the release: advanced blocks. Advanced blocks can be created and edited using parameters, actions, and visibility states. They are similar to dynamic blocks in Autodesk® AutoCAD®.
Also available is the Edit Attributes (Single) command with an enhanced attribute editor. Users can also drag and drop .dwg files to add them as blocks to tool palettes, resize model space viewports, toggle the display of the printable area boundary in paper space, and load and save print stamp setting (.pss) files.
For IntelliCAD versions that support working with BIM files: specify the IFC4 or IFC4x3 schema when exporting to .ifc files, and set display properties for AEC styles.
For IntelliCAD versions that support editing and creation of .dgn files in their native format: attach cell library (.cel) files, use the Explorer command to work with layouts and text styles, and use the Geometric Center snap.
For technical users, IntelliCAD 12.1 uses ODA SDKs version 2023.12 SP1. IntelliCAD IcAPI is a pre-release version for members and is highly compatible with AutoCAD® Object ARX, allowing ITC members to build applications with a single code base that runs on both platforms.
“Advanced blocks have been in development for some time,” stated David Lorenzo, ITC President. “We decided not to wait until 2024 for a more comprehensive release and instead prioritized delivery of this important functionality to ITC members as soon as possible, with a few extra new features included too.”
IntelliCAD 12.1 is supported on Microsoft® Windows® 11, Windows 10, Windows 8, and Windows 7 64-bit versions. IntelliCAD Mobile Viewer versions are available for Windows desktop, Google® Android™, Apple® macOS® and iOS.
Interested IntelliCAD users can contact ITC members to receive details about availability of IntelliCAD software.
