Founded in 1999, the ITC is an organization of like minded software development companies that focus on the development of a computer aided design ("CAD") platform designed to be integrated into member applications for use by engineers, surveyors, architects, designers, and drafters. Members of the ITC pay an annual fee for a license to distribute the IntelliCAD software as part of their product offering. As a result, the IntelliCAD mark has become very well-known in the CAD industry and has strong goodwill associated with it.

In October 1999, CADopia signed one of the first commercial member contracts to join the ITC and resell IntelliCAD under the brand name CADopia. During the next ten years, CADopia became one of the more well-known products based on IntelliCAD. CADopia founder and CEO, Surya Sarda was very active in the management of the ITC, serving as ITC president from 2001 to 2004, ITC Development Manager from 2002 to 2004, and ITC Board Member from 2001 to 2007.

In late 2008, CADopia failed to pay the annual license fee to continue licensing and distributing IntelliCAD. The ITC made repeated attempts to work with CADopia to resolve the outstanding balance, but CADopia did not pay the balance due for the remainder of 2008 and 2009. The ITC finally terminated CADopia's ITC membership in May of 2009.

The ITC member contract stipulates that when a member is terminated, that member must immediately stop using IntelliCAD trademarks and recall all products bearing the trademarks from its distributors. Despite repeated requests from the ITC for CADopia to discontinue selling the IntelliCAD based product, CADopia continues to advertise the CADopia product and to use the IntelliCAD marks on their commercial web site and online store.

The complaint filed by the ITC seeks, among other things, to enjoin CADopia's infringing actions and that the ITC be awarded damages and attorneys' fees.

Portland, Oregon - October 20, 2009 - The IntelliCAD Technology Consortium (ITC) (http://www.intellicad.org/) announced today the release of IntelliCAD 6.6, supporting newly released ITC member products with advanced graphics technology and quality enhancements.

The ITC is a unique organization whose member companies jointly contribute to the development of the IntelliCAD CAD platform. During the research and development of the new IntelliCAD release 6.6, development teams from several ITC members cooperated to design the new high performance algorithms that boost the efficiency of all member products.

"Our customers are creating and editing larger and more complex drawings." said David Carlson of Carlson Software. "In response, our engineering team worked with customers to identify and remove performance bottlenecks encountered with large IntelliCAD drawings. These improvements are built into the new Carlson 2010 release. In addition, since the IntelliCAD Technology Consortium is an open source community we were able to integrate it into the IntelliCAD R6.6 code in such a way that the products of other ITC members will benefit from this effort. The IntelliCAD Technology Consortium (ITC) (http://www.intellicad.org/) announces the election of Robert McGill as ITC President and Cliff Petersohn as ITC Chairman of the Board. These elections took place at the recent annual ITC Board of Directors meeting in Leiden, The Netherlands.

Mr. McGill comes to the ITC having held senior management roles at SolidWorks, CAMAX, CADAM and Computervision. He is a strong proponent of component software and partnering to accelerate technology. Mr. McGill joined the ITC in 2008 as Business Development Director, responsible for increasing the number of vertical applications on the IntelliCAD platform and improving the marketing reach of the ITC. "Our focus at the ITC is to deliver a top quality IntelliCAD product and to work with our members to maximize their success," stated Mr. McGill.

Mr. Petersohn is a senior development manager with Carlson Software, a leader in surveying and civil engineering software. Mr. Petersohn is a noted expert in CAD and GIS system platforms including client-server architectures. Mr. Petersohn has served on the Board of Directors of the ITC since October 2008. IntelliCAD World Meeting 2008 will be held October 29 to 31, 2008 in Athens, Greece. The conference focuses on the next generation of the IntelliCAD technology, to be released during Q2 2009. ITC members gain early access to new IntelliCAD technology.

Portland - December 19, 2007 - The IntelliCAD Technology Consortium (ITC) (http://www.intellicad.org/) announces the release of IntelliCAD 7.0 Alpha to the ITC members.

IntelliCAD 7.0 is a complete re-architecture of the IntelliCAD technology. IntelliCAD 7.0 integrates DWGdirect from the Open Design Alliance directly as its internal database, which provides improved performance in loading and saving files, full access to the DWGdirect DRX development interface (an object-oriented C++ API), and a flexible new graphics subsystem.

When completed, IntelliCAD 7.0 will further enhance the ability of ITC members to create advanced and highly specialized vertical applications and deliver robust CAD technology to their end-users.

When asked about the release, David Lorenzo, ITC Development Director, replied, "Although IntelliCAD 7.0 is not feature complete, the release allows our members to learn more about the new DRX API. The sample DRX applications provided with the Alpha demonstrate how to implement custom objects in IntelliCAD with overrides such as dragging, grip editing, and LIST. Members can review the API, provide feedback, and begin design for new applications while internal development continues to complete the new engine."

IntelliCAD 7.0 Alpha includes over 250 rewritten commands - several of which are now demand-loaded DRX external applications, UNICODE support, improved paperspace functionality, Diesel menu support, object enabler for Autodesk Architecture, improved DWG file format compatibility, and an improved user interface.

The ITC plans to release IntelliCAD 7.0 Beta in the second quarter of 2008.

Portland - August 28, 2007 - The IntelliCAD Technology Consortium (ITC) (http://www.intellicad.org/) announced today the release of IntelliCAD 6.4, another release of the IntelliCAD 6 family aimed at improved quality, the latest DWG compatibility, and increased stability.

IntelliCAD 6.4 uses the latest advances in the ODA DWGdirect 2.3.2 libraries, which interpret the updated DWG 2007 file format, including 2008 object support. IntelliCAD 6.4 can read, display, and save drawings in the latest DWG file format, which includes several new entity types, such as annotations, and over 40 new system variables.

The ITC released the updated IntelliCAD technology so ITC members can use the latest IntelliCAD technology with the updated DWG file format.
